Holidays for families

A real farm holiday — where childhood slows down

Cows to greet, eggs still warm from the coop, beds inside old wine barrels, and a pool in the sun. The kind of screen-free, free-range days that children remember for the rest of their lives.

Let them run, climb, feed, splash — and sleep well

This is a working farm, not a resort. Children gather eggs, walk with the cows, bake bread and chase the afternoon around the gardens — while you actually relax, knowing exactly where they are.

Our houses are made for families: fully-equipped kitchens for fussy eaters and baby food, mezzanines and barrel-beds the kids fight over, and gentle spaces for grandparents too.

What you're probably wondering, as a family

It's a farm, so there's space to roam and some of it is rural by nature — but it's calm, low-traffic and watched over. We'll flag the few things to know (one house has a staircase to an upstairs bedroom) so you can choose what suits your children's ages.

Gather the morning's eggs, walk with our Barrosã cows, a treasure hunt, traditional games, a wood-oven pizza session, outdoor cinema, and the pool. Nearby: water parks, karting and a gentle first horse ride.

Yes — four travel cots, free, for children up to three. Several houses take extra beds (€25 per person, per night), and Casa dos Toneis even has a children's mezzanine of little barrel-beds.

Casa dos Toneis (barrel beds, nearest the pool) is a child's dream; Casa do Palheiro Grande and Casa do Estau suit bigger or multi-generation families. We'll match you by ages and numbers.

Every house has a full kitchen, so you cook what they'll actually eat — or we deliver meals to the house. Breakfast baskets arrive each morning, and there are good restaurants nearby.

Board and traditional games, baking in the kitchen, the indoor karting in Fafe, or a film on the outdoor-cinema setup moved indoors. The farm is good weather and bad.

Picture it: your child runs to the coop for still-warm eggs, helps knead the bread, splashes all afternoon, walks the herd in with our cowboy at golden hour, then climbs into a bed built inside a real wine barrel. That's a day here.
